Safety and Security at Logan Boston Airport

The airport is open 24 hours a day, however once the security checkpoints close, travellers must wait in the public, pre-security areas until the TSA reopens the checkpoints.

The TSA is in charge of all security checkpoints at Boston Logan Airport. Massport works with the TSA to keep security queue lengths under 15 minutes; however, to avoid any delays, we recommend arriving two (2) hours before domestic departures and three (3) hours before international departures to allow enough time for check-in, security screening, and transfer to your gate. Security checks typically open one hour before the day’s first departure. For information on specific checkpoint hours of operation, please contact your airline or the TSA directly.
